At the Faculty of Philology, several academic clubs are actively involved in a wide range of activities. They not only explore various humanities fields through study trips, discussions, and meetings with guests, but also (co-)organize diverse events such as conferences, lectures, film screenings, music corners, Open Days, and integration. They also publish and develop both academic and popular science works.

 Supervisor: Dr. Diana Saniewska

The club was established in June 2025 on the initiative of Creative Writing students, currently it also includes students of Polish Philology. Although it has philological roots, students from other faculties of the University of Bialystok who are interested in writing are also welcome.

The aim of the club is to develop and deepen knowledge in the fields of literary theory, literature, language, writing techniques and methods, and the publishing market, as well as to support individual creative processes and promote members’ achievements. The club organises cultural, artistic, and academic events and also participates in such initiatives.

The first outcome of the club’s activity was a collection of texts published as “Illness, Cup, Cult - and Anthology” (2025).

    Supervisor: Dr. Sara Moroz

The Romance Club (previously functioning under Intercultural Competence Club) focuses on expanding knowledge about French and the French language. With particular emphasis on the history of cuisine, culinary practices, and eating habits in France. Members have the opportunity to develop not only their language skills but also paleographic skills by deciphering old and unfamiliar culinary recipes.

The club also tries - as Dr. Sara Moroz emphasises - “to experience French culture firsthand”, which is why they often test historical recipes, sharing their creations with others. During university events such as Open Days or the Podlasie Festival of Science and Art, the Club invites visitors to taste forgotten French specialties, such as marzipan sweets, ravioli, and cheeses. In summary, as the club’s supervisor puts it: “We talk about various aspects of culinary art, have a great time, and are never hungry.”.

     Supervisor: Dr. Weronika Biegluk-Leś
