In the second half of May, Vienna became the centre of intensive educational, academic, and popularisation events! All this took place as part of a project financed by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) under the Promotion of the Polish Language programme.
The initiative, organised in cooperation with the Department of Slavonic Studies at the University of Vienna, was coordinated and led by: Prof. Anna Janicka, Dr hab. Krzysztof Korotkich, Prof. UwB, and Dr Agnieszka Trześniewska-Nowak.
What was on the agenda?
🎓 Prof. Anna Janicka's lecture "Viennese Zapolska" – an insightful literary analysis of the Galician chapter in the author's life.
🔍 Glottodidactic workshops based on Gabriela Zapolska's crime story The Flower of Death, combining language learning with modern methodology.
🎭 A LARP game — Live Action Role-Playing — moderated by Dr hab. Krzysztof Korotkich, Prof. UwB. Students of the University of Vienna took on assigned roles to uncover secrets from the writer's life, with Prof. Anna Janicka herself stepping into the role of Zapolska!
An innovative approach, vibrant culture, and immersion in storytelling resulted in extraordinary engagement among the participants and proved just how effective and fascinating contemporary learning can be!
Thank you all for this inspiring time! 👏❤️
