Students from the Humanists' Club Launch a Faculty Podcast Series. An Invitation for Lecturers

The Humanists' Club, operating at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Białystok, invites all academic and teaching staff to participate in a brand-new media project. On June 29th, recording will begin for the premiere series of faculty podcasts, which aim to introduce the profiles of our lecturers and preserve precious memories of our current Faculty home.

Report on the Fulbright Scholar's visit to the Faculty of Philology

This academic year, Dylan Moucka from the United States joined our academic community. His formal supervisor on the Fulbright programme was Dr Anna Szuchalska. During his time at the Faculty of Philology, Mr Moucka taught on the English Language and Literature programme, and students rated his commitment and teaching style very highly. He also collaborated with the administration, taking part in consultations and meetings.

Conference in Rijeka featuring a researcher from the Faculty of Philology

From June 5–6, the 6th Conference of the Central and Eastern European Network for the Academic Study of Western Esotericism (CEENASWE) was held with the title "Transcriptions of Visuality." Professor Monika Bednarczuk from the Department of Comparative Studies and Editorial Work at the Faculty of Philology attended the event with a presentation on works by Lech Emfazy Stefański and Jerzy Ćwiertnia.

Dr Monika Bednarczuk on a research trip in Prague

From 25 to 30 May, Dr Monika Bednarczuk, a member of the Department of Comparative Studies and Editing, visited Prague. The purpose of the visit was library and archival research in connection with an National Science Centre project on esotericism in communist Poland.

A Discussion with Professor Piotr Biłos: "On the Other Side of the Obstacle. Four Encounters with Truth and Fate in the French Novel"

The Faculty of Philology of the University of Białystok cordially invites you to a discussion with Professor Piotr Biłos — a scholar of Polish literature and head of the Polish Section at the Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (Inalco) in Paris. The discussion, "On the Other Side of the Obstacle. Four Encounters with Truth and Fate in the French Novel," will take place on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in Room 47 of the Faculty of Philology (Plac NZS 1)

It is with profound sorrow that we have learned of the untimely passing of Zuzia Opolska, a student of our Faculty.

We have lost a young person who was a valued part of our academic community. In the face of such a painful loss, words fail us. To her family, loved ones, and friends, we extend our deepest condolences. We stand together in grief during this exceptionally difficult time.

Słuchowisko Spadła gwiazda mej pani autorstwa Iwony E. Rusek w finale prestiżowego konkursu „Dwa Teatry”

XXV Festiwal "Dwa Teatry" Sopot 2026 odbędzie się w dniach 19-22 czerwca w Sopocie. Do konkursu słuchowisk zgłoszono 35 utworów, z których jury wybrało 16 najlepszych utworów. W finałowej szesnastce znalazło się słuchowisko Spadła gwiazda mej pani autorstwa Dr hab. Iwony E. Rusek, prof. UwB.
